Waste World is not a government website. We are not part of, or endorsed by, the UK government, the Environment Agency or any council. We explain the rules in plain English and link to the official sources so you can check them yourself.

Who publishes this

Waste World is published by the team behind WasteMate, free tools for waste businesses. We tell you so you know where we are coming from. Our guides are not adverts, and we only recommend that you check the official register.

How we keep guides accurate

• Every guide links to its official source and shows when it was last reviewed.
• We say clearly where a rule applies to one nation only.
• It is general information and not legal advice. For your own situation, check the official source or ask your council.
