Community rules
Comments are for helpful, civil discussion about waste and recycling.
Anyone with a free account can comment on blog posts. Comments appear straight away, so please help keep them useful for everyone.
Please do
- Be polite, even when you disagree. Debate the point, not the person.
- Share your own experience and say where you are (the rules differ in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland).
- Link to an official source when you state a rule, and include no more than one link per comment.
Please do not
- Post adverts, touting for waste collection work, or links to your business.
- Name, accuse or post photos of private individuals, vehicles, number plates or addresses. If you have seen fly-tipping, report it instead.
- Post abuse, hate, threats, or anything illegal or defamatory.
- Post personal information, yours or anyone else’s.
- Pretend to be the Waste World team or anyone else.
What we do
- Comments are published straight away and are the opinions of the people who wrote them, not Waste World. They are not legal advice.
- Any logged-in reader can use Report on a comment. Once a comment has been reported by three different people it is hidden while we review it.
- We may remove comments or close accounts that break these rules.
- You can delete your own comments at any time.
