📢 Report fly-tipping: step by step

Seen dumped rubbish? Here is how to report it safely so the council can act.

  1. Stay safe. Do not touch it. Waste can hide needles, chemicals or asbestos. Never confront anyone who is dumping.
  2. Note where it is. The exact location, nearest address or landmark, and what3words if you use it.
  3. Describe it. What it is (bags, furniture, rubble, tyres) and roughly how much.
  4. Take photos from a safe distance, if you can.
  5. If you saw it happen, note the date, time, vehicle make, colour and registration.
  6. Report it using the official GOV.UK service, which sends it to the right council.
