Rubble and bricks: how to get rid of it
Recycling centre or take-back
Where it usually goesDIY rubble may be accepted at recycling centres within limits. Larger amounts need a skip, grab lorry or collector.
Too big or not suitable for a household bin. Take it to a recycling centre, a shop take-back point or book a collection.
Step by step
- Reuse first: sell it, give it away or donate it if it still works.
- Book your council’s bulky waste collection, or take it to your recycling centre (some need booking).
- If you pay someone to take it, check they are a registered waste carrier and get a receipt. Fly-tipped waste can be traced back to you.
Check your council’s rules
